In our Biblical exposition on the Holy Spirit, we carefully examined the distinction between the indwelling and the baptism (or infilling) of the Holy Spirit.
At salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer, guaranteeing our salvation and bearing witness to our sonship in Christ. However, that is not the full extent of the Holy Spirit’s ministry.
The Holy Spirit also comes upon the believer to empower him for service. This is the infilling of the Spirit.
The indwelling of the Spirit (the Spirit within)enables us to bear fruit and grow in Christlike character. The infilling of the Spirit (the Spirit upon) empowers us for effective ministry, witness, and service.
To live an effective and impactful Christian life, we need both dimensions of the Holy Spirit’s work: His presence within us for transformation and His power upon us for service.We cover the earth 🌍
